§ 12-25. Fees per shot, etc.

  • (a)

    For two-dimensional (2D) seismic programs, a minimum fee of two hundred dollars ($200.00) per drill hole, plus one thousand dollars ($1,000.00) per line per section crossed or any part hereof, shall be charged to any geophysical or geological company crossing or conducting seismic operations on parish-owned properties in the parish.

    (b)

    For three-dimensional (3D) seismic programs, thirty-five dollars ($35.00) per acre shall be charged to any geophysical or geological company crossing parish-owned properties.

    (c)

    Such fees are to be computed and invoiced by the oil, gas and mineral department and made payable to the parish government. Authority to grant permits to conduct or extend seismic work or geophysical surveys in, on, over and under parish-owned lands shall be granted by the parish president through resolution of the parish council. Seismic and seismograph operators shall be held responsible for any additional damages to parish-owned properties as may be determined by the parish president or his duly authorized representative.
