§ 13-24. Use of disposable gloves required in the preparation of food in commercial establishments.
(a)
All employees of any business establishment dealing with food/food products are required to wear disposable gloves and hairnets while engaged in food preparation or service or while handling, processing or making food/food products. Gloves are to be worn and frequently changed to ensure that this section is being complied with. Any violations that are noticed by the public are to be reported to the Plaquemines Parish Health Department at telephone number 504-392-6690, ext. 1348.
(b)
All employees that do not come in direct contact with the food/food products such as waiters, waitresses, bartenders, bus-boys, etc., are hereby exempt from the requirements of subsection 13-24(a).
(c)
Any person convicted of violating this section shall be fined not exceeding five hundred dollars ($500.00) or imprisoned in the parish jail for not more than sixty (60) days or both fined and imprisoned at the discretion of the court.
