§ 13-71. Abatement costs charged to property owners.

Whenever the parish government through its own work force, or through private contractor,
has abated those nuisances as set forth in section 13-68 and section 13-70 of this Code, the actual cost of abatement or one hundred dollars ($100.00) per acre
or fraction thereof, whichever is greater, plus all charges for deposit in a permitted,
sanitary landfill, plus accrued interest at the legal rate per annum from the date
of completion of said work shall be charged to the owner of such property on the next
regular tax bill forwarded to such owner by the sheriff and ex officio tax collector
for the parish, if not paid by such owner prior thereto, which said charge shall be
due and payable by such owner at the time of the payment of the tax bill. In no event
shall the overall charge be less than one hundred fifty dollars ($150.00). A charge
in the amount of two hundred fifty dollars ($250.00) shall also be assessed against
the property owner to cover any and all administrative costs.
