§ 14-27. License to be posted in place of business; penalties.

  • Every person, association of persons, firm or corporation required to take out a license under this article shall be required to post the license in a conspicuous place in his or her place of business, under a penalty of not less than ten dollars ($10.00) nor more than twenty-five dollars ($25.00). This penalty is recoverable by the director of administration before any court of competent jurisdiction. It shall be the duty of the sheriff and the ex-officio tax collector of the parish, or their deputies or other persons designated to collect said taxes, to visit in person the several places of business herein mentioned and ascertain that the provisions of this section are strictly followed.
