§ 17-104. Books and records.

  • Every pawnbroker and secondhand dealer shall keep books and records which shall be written in ink. Said books and records shall contain the times of each purchase, the taking or receiving of any goods, articles or things; and they shall contain accurate descriptions, in the English language, of goods, articles or things received; numbers, name of maker, letters or marks on the articles received or taken; the amount paid therefor; and the time of purchasing, taking or receiving same; the name, residence, age, sex, race, height, weight, style of dress and number of the driver's license of the person or persons selling or delivering the goods, articles or things. These records shall be preserved. Only a Louisiana driver's license or Louisiana identification card with picture will be accepted for identification.
