§ 2-10. Residence and domicile determination.

  • If a person proposed for appointment to a parish board, commission, or committee has more than one residence, then intention is the determinative factor in ascertaining the location of such person's domicile. Such factors taken into consideration may include: where a person sleeps, takes meals, has established the household and surrounds himself with immediate family and the comforts of domestic life, where the person is registered to vote, where his/her motor vehicles are registered, where he/she maintains bank accounts and receives mail, where he transacts business affairs, where he/she leases and owns property, and where such person has a homestead exemption. The same factors and assessment shall be used where the residency or domicile of a person serving on a parish commission, committee or board is challenged.
