Article IV. DEPARTMENTS |
§ 2-60. Department of public administration.
(a)
Created. There is hereby created within the administrative organization of the parish government under the office of the parish president the department of public administration.
(b)
Director. The department of [public] administration shall be headed by a director of [public] administration who shall assist the parish president in the general management and control over all matters related to finance, purchasing, health, food stamps, ambulances, data processing, sales tax, environmental services, cooperative extension service, human resources, registrar of voters, comprehensive care center, council on aging, veterans, retarded citizens, medicaid, aviation department and all such other functions and duties necessary to effectuate the orderly function of those general areas of government.
(c)
Qualifications of director. An individual appointed to the position of director of the department of [public] administration shall possess the same qualifications as for the office of parish president as those set forth in section 3.02 of article 3, [subsections] A, B, C and D of the Charter for Local Self-Government for the parish and shall be subject to the same prohibitions set forth in section 3.04 of article 3 of the Charter for Local Self-Government for the parish.
