§ 6-185. Director's authority; enforcement division.

  • The director is charged with the enforcement of this division and must also perform such other duties as are required of him by law, ordinance or resolution. The director has full power to supervise and regulate the shifting, berthing, anchoring, mooring and removal of vessels or other craft, and all other vessels or craft positions or movements within the jurisdiction of the district as the circumstances warrant and as general convenience, safety or good order may require.

    (At the present time, the district has not formally appointed a director, but has a port manager. Wherever in this division the word "director" appears, until such time as one is officially selected by the Plaquemines Port, Harbor and Terminal District, such word "director" shall mean "port manager," and he shall have all of the duties and responsibilities conferred on such director and his office shall be the director' office, and is located at Woodlawn Building, Route 1, Box 53A, Braithwaite, Louisiana 70040; phone (504) 682-0081, a twenty-four-hour telephone service.)
