§ 6-273. Payment of rental charges required.

  • (a)

    All rentals for the lease of property within the parish boat harbors/marina for the operation of a seafood wholesale and/or retail business shall be payable monthly or as per terms and conditions deemed to be in the best interest of the council. No business operation shall occupy or utilize any property within the parish boat harbors/marina until the rental has been paid pursuant to the rental contract, nor shall any business occupation continue to occupy such space after the period for which the rent has been paid nor after the expiration of the term of the rental contract by recondition or as therein otherwise provided.

    (b)

    Should the lessee fail to pay the rental promptly when due, the council shall have the right and option to cancel the lease agreement upon giving notice in writing addressed to the lessee at the lessee's address set forth therein, or as otherwise provided the lessee to the council in writing, setting forth such failure to pay the rental when due and the lessee shall have fifteen (15) days from the date of the mailing of such notice to pay to the council the rental due and owing plus a late charge of one and one-half (1½) percent per month or fraction thereof of the principal amount until paid.
