§ 7-39. Object and scope.

  • (a)

    The object and scope of this article is to reduce the personal hazard and fire hazard from electrical causes. To accomplish this, the requirements set forth herein are intended to provide a minimum standard for electrical installation in the parish.

    (b)

    The provisions of this article shall not apply to installations in railway cars, automotive equipment, to installations used by electrical public utility, telephone, telegraph companies, radio transmission stations in the generation, transmissions or in distribution of electricity or for the operation of signals or the transmission of intelligence, in the exercise of their function as such agencies and located outdoors or in buildings used exclusively for that purpose, provided, however, that these regulations, except as to permits, shall apply to all such wiring and equipment installed in or on the consumer's premises.
