Article 3. PARISH PRESIDENT |
§ 3.04. Prohibitions.
A.
The parish president shall hold no other elected public office, nor be a compensated official or employee of or under contract with the parish government or any of its political subdivisions during the term of office for which elected. The parish president shall hold no compensated appointive office or employment of the parish government or any of its political subdivisions nor serve on the parish council within one year after leaving office.
B.
Nothing in this section shall prohibit the president from serving as an elected member of a political party committee, charter commission, or constitutional convention.
C.
The parish president shall not act upon or participate in any matter or subject in which he has a personal interest.
D.
The parish president shall not contract with any person, firm, or corporation with whom he is associated in business, or of which he is a member or shareholder, for any work, or to furnish any equipment, material, supplies, or labor for the parish, or any of its political subdivisions or districts.
