§ 13-2. Health cards for persons employed in taverns, restaurants, hotels, etc.
(a)
All persons employed in the management or operation of any bar or lounge, and other places of business where beer or intoxicating liquors are sold for consumption on the premises, upon initial employment shall appear at the employment opportunities department and be fingerprinted and photographed and submit to a medical examination and file with the secretary of the council a health certificate issued by a medical doctor showing that said person is free from contagious or infectious disease.
(b)
All persons employed in the management or operation of a hotel, motel, rooming house or restaurant or eating place, upon initial employment shall appear at the employment opportunities department to be fingerprinted and photographed and submit to a medical examination and file with the secretary of the council a health certificate issued by a medical doctor showing that said person is free from contagious or infectious disease.
(c)
No licensed operator of any such place of business referred to in subsections (a) and (b) shall employ any person in the operation of such business, unless he shall have complied with the provisions of this section.
(d)
Any person violating the provisions of this section shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction by a court of competent jurisdiction shall be fined not more than one hundred dollars ($100.00) or imprisoned in the parish jail not more than thirty (30) days, or both.
