Article IV. HAWKERS, PEDDLERS, SOLICITORS, TRANSIENT AND ITINERANT MERCHANTS |
§ 17-51. Purpose.
(a)
This article is adopted to avert the annoyance and disturbance caused to owners and/or occupants by uninvited solicitors, hawkers, peddlers and other transient, itinerant merchants and to provide the public an available remedy against any solicitor, hawker, peddler or other transient, itinerant merchant.
(b)
The unlicensed sale, purchase or transfer of any item of seafood by any person upon any private or public property, including highways, in the parish is hereby declared a nuisance which is punishable as a misdemeanor, as hereinafter provided. Any law enforcement officer is authorized to cite any individual violating the foregoing provisions.
