§ 20-15. In ground pools in subdivisions.
(a)
In-ground swimming pools in subdivisions in the parish are to be protected by a fence, wall, building, enclosure, or solid wall of durable material of which the pool itself may be constructed, or any combination thereof. Natural or artificial barriers shall be provided so as to afford no external handholds or footholds, be at least six (6) feet in height, and be equipped with a self-closing and positive self-latching closure mechanism at a height of at least forty-five (45) inches above the ground and provided with hardware for locking.
(b)
Any person who violates this section is guilty of a petty offense except that no fine may be imposed if a sufficient showing is made that the person has subsequently complied with subsection (a) of this section within forty-five (45) days of citation.
