§ 7-56. Qualifications of applicants for licenses.
An applicant to qualify for an electrical license shall meet the following requirements:
(a)
An applicant for a Class A license shall have had at least five (5) years' experience in the occupation or business governed by the license for which he is applying; or shall be a graduate of any trade school or technical college of accredited standing and in addition, shall have had one year of practical experience in that class of occupation or business governed by the license for which he is applying. Two (2) letters of reference from Class A licensed electricians in this or an adjoining parish shall be submitted attesting to applicant's experience and character. Applicant must have and maintain an established place of business and have someone in attendance to receive complaints from the electrical inspector, or other persons concerned, during regular business hours.
(b)
An applicant for a Class B license must have had at least three (3) years experience under the supervision of a licensed electrician in that particular line or class of occupation in which he desires to engage.
