§ 22-20. Pumps on water lines.

  • (1)

    The attachment or connection of any pump or pumping device to any water line of the parish purification water system is prohibited.

    (2)

    Any user requiring a pump in his water system shall make application therefor to the parish permit office. Approval shall be granted only pursuant to the following rules and regulations.

    (a)

    All pumps will require a permit from the parish department of permits, planning and zoning.

    (b)

    All plans and specifications for installation must accompany the permit application and shall be forwarded to the parish health department of approval.

    (c)

    The user shall install a holding tank on his property which is to receive water directly from the parish water system.

    (d)

    The user shall install an approved atmospheric air gap backflow preventer.

    (e)

    Any pump shall pump water from said holding tank.
